FAQ

What is playtesting?

You’ll be part of a group of insiders who get to play our games before anyone else, attend exclusive playtesting sessions, and talk directly with Greensky Games developers about the ideas that you want to see in the game!

What are the requirements?

You own or have regular access to a VR headset.
You’re willing to share feedback on the games you get access to.
You won’t post anything that we ask you to keep secret!

How does Playtesting Work?

Once you’ve filled out the playtesting form, we’ll email you whenever there are playtesting opportunities that you’re eligible for, and email you asking if you’d like to participate.
After you confirm your intent to participate, we’ll grant you access to the current build of the game you’ll be testing.
Once you have your copy of the game, we’ll provide you with further instructions on the nature of the specific playtest you’re taking part in.

For the most part, playtests work like this:
For multiplayer games: On the day of the playtest, you’ll join a channel in Discord marked specifically for your playtest. Greensky Staff will be waiting for you, and will provide you with instructions as to what to do next. But we basically just want you to play the game!

Discord is not always mandatory to participate, and you never have to talk during a playtest if you don’t want to. We just like using it because when we play multiplayer games with our friends, that’s usually how we communicate!

For single player games: We’ll send you a copy of the game, which you’re totally free to play whenever you want. We might send you feedback forms periodically to see how your experience is going, and we may invite you to private interview sessions with our team, where we’ll ask you some questions or ask to watch you play!

What Happens After the Playtest?

After the playtest ends, we’ll send you a feedback form to fill out asking about your thoughts, feelings, and suggestions for how to improve the game! It’s not mandatory, but it really helps us figure out what the next steps are for building the game. It’s also your chance to share your thoughts and shape the game!

Can I play the game after the Playtest is over?

For multiplayer games:
It really depends, usually you’ll be able to keep the game in your library, but the servers will be offline, so there won’t really be a game for you to play. Eventually, we may move into “Open Weekends” or even a full “Open Beta”, where the game is available to be played for a specific time window. However, by being an early Playtester, you’ll be responsible for helping make those things happen, and anyone who eventually plays this game will owe it to you! Also, you'll be the first people we contact whenever we need to test anything new, or just have something cool to show off.

Note: Signing up to playtest does not guarantee that you’ll be able to participate in all of our playtests. Playtests may vary depending on platform, region, genre, and age

Can I share the game or tell people about what I’ve seen?

We’re a small indie team and we've been working on this game for a year. If anything gets leaked before our official announcement, it’ll screw up all our marketing plans and probably hurt sales. Which means we’ll have to keep eating cat food, forever. And we hate cat food.

If you signed an NDA, please note that it’s a legal agreement, which means you can’t discuss the game anywhere except the Playtesting Hub in Discord.
